Torrovap 800 MVS

The TVP 800 is a dual mode Rotary Metal Vapor Synthesis equipment. This equipment is available with dual high power 6.0 Kw electron guns and dual resistive 300 A. sources. Dual microbalance quartz crystal monitoring is used for bi-metallic evaporation. Both the Dual Electron Gun and Dual Resistive Sources provide evaporation for molecular bond and chemical suspension within the rotary evaporation flask. The by product can then be extracted, while under vacuum, through a temperature controllable cryo-cooled transfer tube into a sample flask.

The TVP 800 has been designed and built for durability and ease of operation with minimum maintenance required. The first system was completed and delivered in 1981 and is still in use over 35 years later. Several units have been built since that time and remain in operation. Over the years there have been several modifications to the original design with the latest being a complete revamp of the system with up to date electronics and computerization. Torrovap has developed custom software control which provides the user a more stable control over the power supply delivery along with precise repeatability of the processes. The software provides for complete data acquisition, automatic processing and safety integration. The controlling researcher assigns user level access with passwords while maintaining the ability to have secure protected research results.

Torromin

The Torromin has been designed and built for durability and ease of operation with minimum maintenance required. This system was designed as a scaled down version of the parent TVP800 system. This bench top model is intended for metal vapor synthesis studies in the undergraduate labs and smaller research organizations. This system has a footprint less than half the size of the larger TVP800. The single electron gun operates on a 1.5 to 3 Kw power supply. This equipment is available with dual resistive sources as in the parent model.

As with the TVP800, the Torromin has followed with software control which provides the user a more stable control over the power supply delivery along with precise repeatability of the processes. The software provides for complete data acquisition, automatic processing and safety integration. The controlling researcher assigns user level access with passwords while maintaining the ability to have secure protected research results.

Torromis

The Torromis 203 (TMS203) equipment is used in matrix isotope separation analysis for the synthesis and spectroscopic study of a wide range of Organic, Inorganic and Organometallic compounds. This equipment has been designed to be suitable for experiments involving the generation and trapping of reactive intermediates and/or products, under solid, liquid or solution phase conditions. Reagents may be conventional gaseous reagents or high temperature metal, metal oxide or metal salt vapors to name a few. Samples and reagents can be subjected to a range of thermal photolytic, x-ray, y-ray, microwave, radiowave, etc. treatments, either during or after a deposition. It has been used extensively in conjunction with conventional uv-visible, fluorescence, grating and Fourier Transform IR, laser Raman, resonance Raman, resonance fluorescence and electron spin resonance spectroscopies.
